What our customers say

4.9from 7,200+ reviews
Excellent print quality. We were so happy with our the Shell scheme Exhibition Graphics we got from BackDrop Source NZ. We were provided tracking details through WhatsApp which was odd, but everything arrived as expected. And the quality of the graphics was very good. We used them at an Expo over the weekend just been and everything was the size and quality we wanted.

Great quality and exceptionally fast delivery Very happy with the result. Our backdrop is light and very portable, and looks excellent on display. Thank you! In the photo it’s just the wall at the back.
Paul DNZ
Easy to assemble and looks great I was pleasantly surprised how easy the backdrop was to put together (and disassemble afterwards) and how good it looked on the night of our event. Made our workshop guests feel like celebrities - all that was missing was the red carpet!

Amazing service and product Super fast team.. helpful on live chat always got back to me within 10 minutes on email about art work.. great price.. their process is very quick and slick ..

Fabulous Service and Product We have ordered new skins for our media wall 3 or 4 times in the past, and have always been happy with the product, which is so easy to use and change out. This time we had a few additional requests; we wanted a double-sided product, had a fairly low-resolution image we wanted up to 3m wide... and of course, we needed it in a hurry! The team were amazing to deal with. The product arrived early, and we were blown away by the absolutely outstanding quality of the image. Thank you so much, we will be customers for life!

Why do trade show cases matter for your display?

A pop-up frame, banner stand or fabric backdrop is a real investment. Yet it often travels in a thin bag, a cardboard box or loose in the boot. Bent poles, crushed corners and scuffed graphics usually happen between the venue and the car, not on the stand. Purpose-built trade show cases give your kit its own home, so it arrives at the expo looking the way it did when you packed it.

Common reasons people upgrade

  • Graphics came back creased or marked after the last event.
  • You have bought a new display kit and want a case that matches it.
  • You are on a roadshow or regular event circuit, and the kit moves every few weeks.
  • You need a podium for presentations and would rather not buy a separate piece of furniture.

Whatever prompted the search, the decision comes down to three things: how much protection you need, how you will move the case, and whether it fits your kit.

Soft bag or hard case: which protects your kit best?

Premium Nylon Transport Bag

The Premium Nylon Transport Bag is the lightest and lowest-priced option in this collection. It is complete from NZD 119 and comes in three sizes:

  • Small: 27 x 16 x 72 cm
  • Medium: 27 × 27 × 74 cm
  • Large: 37 × 37 × 74 cm

It works well as a display transport bag for compact kits that travel in your own car and are carried by hand. If you are after a banner stand case, measure the stand's packed length against these sizes first.

Hard cases

A rigid shell stands up to knocks, stacking and the rough handling that comes with couriers, freight and venue loading docks. If your kit is handed to someone else, shares a van with other gear or moves often, hard trade show shipping cases are worth the step up. The entry point for hard cases here is the Hard Case without Wheels, complete from NZD 439.

Is a soft bag enough?

  • Usually yes, if you use the display a few times a year, drive it yourself and pack it carefully.
  • Choose a hard case if graphics have been damaged before, the kit goes by courier or freight, or several people pack it.
  • Weigh the cost of replacing a print or frame against the price of the case.

Which transit case fits your display kit?

Getting the size wrong is the biggest worry, and the easiest way to avoid it is to start with the kit you own or are about to buy. For two of the hard cases, the product names tell you which kit size they suit:

  • 3m kits: the plastic hard case is made to hold 3m kits.
  • 6m kits: the oval hard case is made to hold 6m kits, which suits larger exhibition stand setups.
  • Other frames and accessories: check the internal dimensions on each product page against your packed kit.

Wheels or no wheels?

Wheels make a big difference when the load is heavy or the walk from the car park to the hall is long. If you need a hard case with wheels, the M-Size and L-Size wheeled cases are designed to be rolled rather than lifted the whole way. The Hard Case without Wheels suits short carries, or kit that mostly stays in a vehicle. Check the weight and wheel details on each product page before you decide.

Measure before you order

  1. Pack your frame, graphics and accessories the way you would for an event.
  2. Measure the longest item, which is often the folded frame or the rolled graphic.
  3. Compare that measurement with the internal dimensions on the product page.
  4. If you are unsure, contact the team with your display model for advice.

Can a podium case double as part of your expo stand?

The Podium Hard Case, complete from NZD 1264, protects your gear in transit and is designed to work as a podium once you arrive. That means one less item to buy, pack, transport and store. For speakers, product demos and sign-in points at conferences, it gives you a presentation spot that packs away with the rest of your kit.

When it makes sense

  • You present or run demos at events and currently borrow a lectern from the venue.
  • Storage space at the office is tight and every extra item matters.
  • You want your trade show booth to look tidy, with no bare case sitting behind the backwall.

Branding the case

If you would like the podium branded, check the product page for the print options available. Any printed graphics follow the usual Backdropsource process: you can request a free 2D mockup preview, and nothing prints until you approve the artwork. The production lead time is listed on the product page, so you can plan around your event date. Because it is a dedicated exhibition case built for one job, it is worth comparing with the other hard cases to see which mix of protection and function suits your stand.

How do you get the right trade show case before your event?

Time pressure is real when an expo is coming up. A little planning means your trade show case arrives with time to spare, and lets you test-fit your kit before the big day.

A simple ordering plan

  1. Shortlist two or three cases based on your kit size and how you travel.
  2. Open each product page and compare internal dimensions, wheels and the listed lead time.
  3. If you are unsure about fit, send the team your display model and event date before you order.
  4. When the case arrives, pack your kit straight away to confirm it fits.

Returns and peace of mind

Standard, non-custom items can be returned within 7 days of delivery if they are unused and in their original packaging. That is another reason to test-fit promptly. Custom-printed graphics are not returnable once you have approved the proof, so finalise any branding only after you are happy with the case itself.

Backdropsource has made fabric displays since 2004. If you are looking for an exhibition display case NZ teams can reuse season after season, these trade show cases are designed to protect your display and keep pack-down simple. For quick answers on specific cases, see the FAQs below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which trade show cases fit a 3m display kit? +
The Plastic hard case is made to hold 3m kits and is complete from NZD 1179. Before you order, pack your frame, graphics and accessories together and compare the measurements with the internal dimensions on the product page. If you also need wheels or a podium, look at the M-Size wheeled case or the Podium Hard Case, then check that your kit fits.
What case do I need for a 6m exhibition stand kit? +
The Oval hard case is made to hold 6m kits and is complete from NZD 1788. It suits larger setups where the frame and graphics need a rigid shell for transport. To confirm the fit, check the internal dimensions on the product page against your packed kit. You can also send the team your display model for advice before ordering.
What sizes does the nylon display transport bag come in? +
The Premium Nylon Transport Bag comes in Small (27 x 16 x 72 cm), Medium (27 × 27 × 74 cm) and Large (37 × 37 × 74 cm). It is complete from NZD 119, and the price varies by size. Measure your folded frame or rolled graphic first, because the longest item usually decides which size you need.
Do I need a wheeled trade show case? +
You need wheels if your packed kit is heavy or you often face long walks from the car park to the hall. The M-Size wheeled case is complete from NZD 525, and the L-Size from NZD 1245. If the case mostly stays in your vehicle, the Hard Case without Wheels, complete from NZD 439, may be all you need.
Will a banner stand case hold my graphics and accessories too? +
It depends on the packed size of your stand and how much else you want to fit in. Lay out the stand, any spare graphics and accessories together, then compare them with the case's internal dimensions on the product page. If everything only just fits, size up so nothing is forced in and graphics are not crushed.
What is the most affordable exhibition case in this range? +
The Premium Nylon Transport Bag is the most affordable option in this collection, complete from NZD 119. If you want a rigid shell instead, the Hard Case without Wheels is the lowest-priced hard option, complete from NZD 439. Choose based on how often you travel and who handles the kit, not on price alone.
Are hard trade show shipping cases better than soft bags for freight? +
Yes, hard cases are generally the safer choice when your kit is handed to couriers or freight handlers. A rigid shell resists knocks and stacking better than fabric. Soft bags work well when you transport the display yourself and handle it carefully. If your graphics have been damaged in transit before, a hard case is usually worth the extra cost.
Can I return a transit case if it does not fit my display? +
Yes, standard, non-custom items can be returned within 7 days of delivery if they are unused and in their original packaging. Test-fit your kit as soon as the case arrives so you stay within that window. Any custom-printed graphics, such as a branded wrap, cannot be returned once you have approved the proof.
Can the Podium Hard Case replace a separate lectern at events? +
The Podium Hard Case is designed to protect your gear in transit and then work as a podium on site, so for many exhibitors it removes the need for a separate lectern. It is complete from NZD 1264. Check the product page for its dimensions and branding options to make sure it suits how you present.
How do I make sure my case arrives before the event? +
Check the production lead time listed on the product page, then order with a buffer before your event date. Exact delivery dates cannot be guaranteed, so allow extra time for busy periods. If your timing is tight, contact the team with your event date and display model before ordering, so they can advise on the most suitable case.
